Southern Bible Institute & College has officially become Foster College!
Our new name honors the resilience of Reverend L.G. Foster, Sr., a determined African American preacher who envisioned a place where Black preachers could receive the education and training needed for effective ministry. This name change represents a significant milestone in our nearly 100-year history, reflecting our commitment to fostering spiritual and academic growth while expanding our impact on the community.
Unveiled at the President’s Table luncheon by Dr. Terrance A. Ford, President of Foster College, the announcement was met with enthusiasm and support from key stakeholders who affirmed the importance of community partnership in this new chapter. The transition to Foster College will be completed by July 2025, accompanied by expanded degree programs and a renewed mission to prepare leaders for ministry and the marketplace.
